Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale Relationship Timeline: The Rise & Fall Of Their Love
In 1995, Gwen and Gavin met when No Doubt and Bush toured together with the Goo Goo Dolls. Gavin described their first date to Details: “I threw a party in New Orleans just as an excuse to hang out with her. We drank a bunch of hurricanes and went around the French Quarter. We had our first kiss that night, just walking around, being careful to step over the puddles of pee. The next day we had that sort of cute, embarrassed, sober meet-up.” Well, their love lasted because Gwen and Gavin got married in 2002.
However, their relationship hit a rough patch in 2004, when a DNA test revealed that Gavin is the father of then-14-year-old model Daisy Lowe, whose mother is former Powder singer Pearl Lowe.
Thankfully, Gwen and Gavin rebounded and they welcomed their first son, Kingston James McGregor Rossdale, in 2006. They later welcomed a second son, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, in 2008.
More trouble came in 2010, when Courtney Love revealed to Howard Stern that she slept with Gavin while he was dating Gwen. Meanwhile, rumors swirled that Gwen was pregnant with her third child, a baby girl. This never came to fruition. But in February 2014, two years after split rumors, Gwen and Gavin did welcome a third child, another baby boy named Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale.
While their love created three beautiful children, it wasn’t enough to save their marriage. On Aug. 3, Gwen and Gavin both filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” They have no prenup, according to TMZ, and Gwen is worth an estimated $100 million, while Gavin is worth $35 million. Under the 50/50 California community property laws, they’ll have to split their combined fortune down the middle.
In a joint statement they said, “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.”
