‘Scandal’: Here’s How Tony Goldwyn Thinks Fitz Would React To Olivia’s Abortion
“It would be the worst possible thing he could hear,” Tony told HollywoodLife.com. “On the other hand, I don’t think that anything Olivia could do would make Fitz not love her.”
Olivia and Fitz have been through a lot together. But Tony’s right. It doesn’t matter what Olivia does, Fitz will love her anyway. They may not be in a relationship at the moment, but Olivia is never too far from Fitz’s mind.
Olivia and Fitz’s breakup actually had nothing to do with her abortion. She felt trapped in the White House. Olivia screamed at him in the midseason finale that there was “no future” for them. That can’t be true, right? Olitz can’t be done for good. So is there hope for them?
“In my book, there is,” Tony continued. “I don’t know if Shonda Rhimes feels the same way.”
Shonda revealed during the cast’s PaleyFest event that she actually hasn’t decided if Fitz will ever learn about Olivia’s abortion. “My question is: Does he need to?” Shonda said. “A woman made a choice about her body that she legally has the right to make. I haven’t actually decided, but I wonder sometimes. We talk about it a lot.”
