U2’s The Edge And His Wife Endured ‘Hell’ After Their Daughter Was Diagnosed With Leukemia
After The Edge, 49, received the news, U2 postponed some of the dates on their Vertigo tour so that the guitarist could be home with his family — Morleigh and The Edge also have a son, Levi, 11. The supportive dad took his daughter to receive treatment in both Los Angeles and his hometown of Dublin, Ireland, and she has now made a solid recovery. “She’s through it and she’s fine,” Morleigh says.
In March 2009, The Edge made a comment that he had “a brush with cancer” in his own family — refusing to elaborate — that led him to join the fight against the disease. Now we know that it was Sian who was battling the deadly illness. The Edge is involved with the Angiogenesis Foundation, an organization using new scientific techniques to treat cancer, blinding diseases, wounds, and other serious conditions.
We are happy to hear that Sian has recovered and is doing well!
