Michael Jackson’s Secret Romance With Fan: Shana Mangatal Tells All In New Book
Michael Jackson died in 2009, but it wasn’t until five or six years later that Shana Mangatal, 40, finally found the strength to read her diaries documenting the time she knew him. She actually started writing in 1988 after attending her first MJ concert, and kept it up for two decades. During that time, she became a member of his management team, and they shared a hot romance throughout the summer of 1996. Now, Shana has converted those diaries into a book called Michael & Me: The Untold Story Of Michael Jackson’s Secret Romance.
“He was extremely flirtatious — he was always flirting with me, at least,” Shana wrote, according to Yahoo!, retaliating against rumors that the singer was asexual. “He could flip any conversation into something flirty. From the day that I met him at the after-party for his concert in New York, he was flirting with me — from the very moment I met him. That told me a lot. And from then on, I knew that there was more to him than meets the eye, because it was clear that he loved the ladies. And he couldn’t hide it.”

She also described Michael as a “real man” and “normal guy,” and revealed that he was her first kiss when she was 26 years old. “He was just so down to earth and friendly, and that was important to me as I was falling deeper in love with him, and seeing what a great sense of humor he had,” she explained. “We played practical jokes on each other every day, and he was amazing.”
