‘The Vampire Diaries’ Recap: Damon Will Do Anything To Get Stefan Back
You Can’t Have It All, Elena
Right away, Elena finds out that Jo and Alaric are having a baby, and it makes her realize that she’ll never have kids. Of course, Damon has the cure that he’s hiding from her because he’s afraid if she does want it, she’ll take it and lose him. She later does come to terms with the fact that while she won’t have a family, she will have Damon — and he decides to continue keeping he cure a secret. Ugh, Damon.
However, they were focused on saving Stefan and Caroline, who went on a full-on psycho/karaoke spree and their targets were set on Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Matt (Zach Roerig) — yes, the only two basically normal men in the town. Caroline knows how to get Tyler mad, and how bad it could get, so she got under his skin and pretty much made him stab Matt. Yup, no-humanity Caroline is a badass.
Everyone Has Secrets
Even more badass is Matt, who refuses to be cured by vampire blood because he’s finally admitting that he hates vampires, and is no longer using them to his advantage. Naturally, that gives Elena another reason to wish she were human again right? Right.
Meanwhile, we learn a little about mama Salvatore.
In an attempt to return Sarah Salvatore to the bad brother who’s turned good, Enzo comes face to face with his past — Lily. We find out that she was the one who turned him into a vampire to save his life. Oh we also found out that at that time, to change people, vampires squeezed blood into a glass, instead of just shoving their wrist into the other’s mouth. Basically she left Enzo starving and wasn’t exactly the modern class act she pretended to be. (I mean she is a ripper.)
Well Done, Lily
Damon also learns a thing or two about his mother — she wasn’t ever trying to save her sons, and when she became a vampire she lost those feelings of caring about her family. But Damon still needs her, so he gives her the descendent in order for her to pretend she cares to save Stefan. Let’s just say she does a damn good job and even cries! So, it’s back to lovable Stefan now, and he’s got one mission: find Caroline.
Unfortunately, there’s a bad twist — that descendent that Lily has gets her back to her other “family” which is actually people who are both witches and vampires. Talk about a scary combo. However, that also means there’s a chance that Kai could return, which we can’t really complain about.
