Mary-Kate Olsen Living Her Best Life As A Step Mom: I’m ‘Lucky’ To Have Family & Career
Despite not having a single social media follower, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, 30, have turned their fashion dreams into a booming business. Part of what Mary-Kate credits her massive success to? Spending time with her family — including husband Olivier Sarkozy, 47 — picking a hobby, and staying off social media. As her twin put it when speaking with Net-A-Porter’s The Edit, “Because we don’t dive into that whole world [of social media] and we don’t have Facebook, we’ve never been connected to our fans in that way. We’ve stayed quite sheltered in that sense.”

Mary-Kate couldn’t agree more, and she loves that they’ve been able to stay out of the spotlight for the most part — after all, as she told the publication, she has “a life” outside of stardom and outside of work. “We’re lucky [working hard] comes quite naturally for us,” she said. “We don’t need so much time to sit and think and ponder. But then I have a husband, two step-kids, and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner. I ride horses on the weekends.”

The celeb continued, “You find the thing that helps you relax and if you don’t have it, you have to look for it. Or you get burned out and then you’re not productive.” Well Mary-Kate has certainly been productive! Let’s not forget she and her sister are 30-year-old multi-millionaire business moguls. But we love how she still manages to strike the perfect balance between work and family. Talk about true #LifeGoals!
After three years of dating, Mary-Kate married her banker husband in an intimate Manhattan ceremony on November 27, 2015. The couple currently reside in a $6.25 million townhouse in NYC, and the blonde beauty gracefully stepped into the role of stepmom to his kids Julien and Margo from his previous marriage to Charlotte Bernard.
